After winning gold in the 100m dash, Noah Lyles failed to do the double in the 200m sprint. The American sprinter finished third as he lost to Botswana's Letsile Tebogo who secured his country's maiden gold medal. After losing his mother earlier this year, Tebogo beat Lyles in an inspirational evening. But more than Tebogo's triumph it was Lyles' bronze medal finish that came under the spotlight. Lyles fell to the ground and was carried away on a wheelchair. It was later found at that Lyles ran despite being Covid positive. The sprinter faced criticism for his act.
