I would like to express my sincere gratitude to God for the guidance, clarity, and strength that enabled me to complete this microteaching project from planning to final execution.

This video is submitted as part of the Final Examination for the Second Language Acquisition course, taught by Ma’am Silfia Asningtias, S.Pd., M.TESOL., Ph.D.

Through this microteaching, I aim to demonstrate my understanding of SLA theories and my ability to apply them in a simulated classroom environment. The project required me to design, teach, and reflect on a short 15-minute lesson that integrates theoretical concepts with practical implementation.

For this microteaching, I used the Genre-Based Approach (GBA) and delivered Meeting 3: Writing & Presenting using the topic “Good Study Habits.”
The lesson was structured to introduce the content, guide students through controlled practice, and support them in producing and presenting a short paragraph. Throughout the session, I incorporated various SLA elements—such as Comprehensible Input, Input Enhancement, Scaffolding, Focus on Form, Monitor Language, Corrective Feedback, Pushed Output, and Metacognitive Strategy Use—to ensure that learning occurred in a meaningful and supportive context.

In addition, I also connected the teaching stages to several of Krashen’s hypotheses, including the Input Hypothesis, the Monitor Hypothesis, the Affective Filter Hypothesis, and the Natural Order Hypothesis, which were reflected naturally through the input, practice, interaction, and closing activities. The goal was to create an environment where students could acquire language through rich exposure and guided participation while maintaining a low-anxiety atmosphere.
