An inside look at some of the ways our DO students receive hands-on, holistic training in our state-of-the-art Simulation Lab, or “Sim Center!” 🩺

Med students participate in simulations with longitudinal debriefing, where students practice clinical skills and decision-making in simulated scenarios. They use tools like mannequins to simulate real-life clinical situations. 🩻

After the simulation, students participate in debriefing sessions where they reflect and receive feedback. Longitudinal debriefing means that these sessions happen over time, allowing for ongoing reflection with different faculty members in different settings (including perspectives from the operating room, anatomy lab, etc).

This approach helps students learn from their mistakes, build on their strengths, and develop their clinical skills and professionalism in a safe and supportive learning environment.
