Marc A performing ''You Sang to Me'' at the TMF Awards. Born on September 16, 1968, in New York as Marco Antonio Muñiz, Marc Anthony is a renowned Puerto Rican singer-songwriter and actor, gaining immense popularity in Latin America.

Muñiz adopted the stage name Marc Anthony to distinguish himself from the Mexican singer Marco Antonio Muñiz. He initially began his career in 1988 by singing hip-hop and house songs but later shifted to salsa after being inspired by a song from Mexican singer Juan Gabriel during a taxi ride.

In 1993, Marc Anthony released his Spanish-language debut album, "Otra nota," featuring a salsa version of Bread's "Make It with You." His collaboration with singer La India on the duet "Vivir nuestro" in 1994 marked a turning point, propelling them to become stadium acts in Latin American countries.

During the late 1990s, Marc Anthony gained widespread recognition among the mainstream audience. He contributed to Paul Simon's "Song from the Capeman" and recorded a duet with Tina Arena, "I Want to Spend My Lifetime Loving You," for the soundtrack of "The Mask of Zorro." His solo hits, including "I Need to Know" and "You Sang to Me," further solidified his international success.

In addition to his musical achievements, Marc Anthony showcased his acting talents in films such as "Man on Fire" and portrayed the late salsa singer Hector Lavoe in "El Cantante."

In 2004, Marc Anthony married singer Jennifer Lopez, with whom he has a son and a daughter. Despite the marriage lasting seven years, the couple collaborated on two successful duets, "No me ames" and "Espacémonos."
