1) Amaranth

Eating amaranth is important for fasting. You can eat amaranth laddu or mix amaranth in milk or amaranth khichdi, kheer are good options. Amaranth is easy to digest. It also contains fiber content. So it does not affect the body. Apart from this, you can also eat thalipeeth of amaranth flour.

2) Bhagar

Top rice i.e. bhagar or this bread is guaranteed on Ekadashi. Upright rice is rich in fibers. This prevents hunger pangs and makes you feel full. You can add peanuts, cashews as per your choice. You will definitely not suffer from acidity by consuming it.

3) Fruits

After the pooja on the fasting day you can start the day with fruits. If you eat fruits like apple, pomegranate, banana, pineapple, you will feel refreshed throughout the day. There will be no fatigue, weakness. Apart from this you can also take fruit juice. When eating fruit, try to eat it with the skin on so that you can get the nutrients from it.

4) Tubers

You can eat yams or potatoes on fasting days. Some eat sago khichdi with potato, while others like the vegetable battered with potato spiciness, salt and grains. Apart from this you can add jaggery or sugar to the cooked sweet potato syrup as per your choice. It is rich in nutrients and fibers. Eating tubers makes you feel full faster and does not cause indigestion.

5) Dry fruits

On fasting days you can eat soaked almonds, figs or raisins, walnuts. If dry fruits are not available at home, you can also boil peanuts and eat them with a sprinkling of spicy salt. It contains a lot of nutrients. Or you can add figs, cashews, almonds as per your choice in fasting foods. You can add almonds and drink milk. Starting the day with this milk will make you feel energetic throughout the day.
