Jammu and Kashmir, India – A major advancement has been made in the Katra to Banihal railway project with the Commissioner of Railway Safety granting approval for train operations between Sangaldan and Reasi. This approval marks a significant progress in improving railway connectivity within the region.

The Katra to Banihal project, a key component of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Banihal Railway Link (USBRL), is set to transform transportation across Jammu and Kashmir. Central to this initiative is the SawalKote Railway Station, situated amidst the stunning Himalayan landscape. The station is ingeniously designed, integrating with a complex network of railway tunnels, including the notable T42 and T43. Its innovative design features a portion of the platform extending over a railway bridge, showcasing both structural ingenuity and aesthetic charm.
