The Narsighar house in Nokha, India is a modern take on traditional desert architecture. Built with local materials and craftsmanship, the house incorporates courtyards, thick stone walls, and screened openings to keep cool in the hot climate. Over 40% of the space is open-air courtyards and patios, promoting natural ventilation and a connection to the outdoors.

The design combines traditional elements like multifoil arches and stonework with modern features like a central sky-lit lobby. Every living space opens to a sheltered outdoor area, blurring the lines between inside and outside. This energy-efficient home celebrates local heritage while providing a comfortable living space for multiple generations.
