THE CABBAGE LADY

Join us on a journey to Bitipui Village, South Nasioi Constituency in Bougainville, where we meet Angelina Kiha, a young mother who built her home from money she got from selling round cabbage. After completing Grade 10, Angelina couldn't further her studies so she returned home to her village, and with the knowledge & skills she received from her Agriculture Teacher, she started her Cabbage Garden. A very inspiring story. Angelina passed away in 2023, but her story lives on to inspire more young Bougainvillean youths. Thank you Angelina.

The Wokabaut Senis project is facilitated by PaCSIA and supported by the Autonomous Bougainville Government, the Bougainville Christian Churches Association, and the UN (UNDP, UNFPA, and UN Women). It is part of a broader effort to engage communities at the grassroots level in the lead-up to the Bougainville's plight for Independence.
