An armed escorted train tour through the city of La Romana.

Join us on a journey through the heart of La Romana, on a unique tram tour that takes you through the city's iconic sights. When a the cruise ships tells you to either book an excision or stay on the ship they mean it. We normally like to explore the ports on our own but there isn't anything to explore at this port of call in the Dominican Republic. There are luxury resorts, historic villages, national parks and museums if you're willing to pay a premium for transportation. We looked around the shops then decided to take this train tram tour through the city to see what we were missing. La Romana was built around the sugar industry, not the tourism industry. I'm sure we would have really enjoyed some of the city parks, markets, and local food if it was an option to get off an on the tram. The motorcyclist speeds past the train and block traffic is the armed security that follows from start to finish.
