In the “Real Voices from the Fight for Social Justice” series of videos, members of the School’s Social Justice Praxis Committee (SJPC) speak from their hearts and model the authentic and ongoing dialogue they seek to encourage. “Issues of race and racism can’t be addressed through the intellect alone as these issues are affective and often unconscious and the intellectual realm provides a safe defense from grappling with all of the discomfort,” explained Master Teacher, Clinical Associate Professor and Katherine and Howard Aibel Executive-in Residence Dr. Linda Lausell Bryant, one of the faculty members on the SJPC and co-author of A Guide for Sustaining Conversations on Racism, Identity and Our Mutual Humanity (Cognella, 2017).
