Bendigo is a pleasant discovery. Riding through the 2 hours of Vline through suburbs, one can appreciate this town of 100k population that was once the largest Gold mine town in 🇦🇺. With the yield of 700 tonnes of Gold, it surpassed the combination of all other towns.

We did a 2D1N escape to Bendigo, as part of our 2 weeks Brisbane Sydney Melb trip. You could have done it 1 day instead but we preferred to linger awhile to taste the old good slow pace of suburbs.

1. HooGah cafe. Yes there are only few cafes in Bendigo, and this wasn't bad at all!
2. Golden Dragon Museum. As a chinese who is intrigued by the movements of Chinese towards South China Sea, this museum deserves credit for having a rich heritage and record of the chinese who came here during the Gold Rush!
3. Poppet Head Lookout. An easy walk around to appreciate the skyline of Bendigo!
4. Central Deborah Gold Mine. The highlight. Experience the daily routine and operations of the Gold mine here, with day tour available of all kinds, that includes 3 hours of darkness at 200 meters underground
5. Vintage Talking Tram! This is the highlight too! But we missed it.. do comment below what you think :)
