The Vickers MG Collection and Research Association is able to offer demonstration days of a series of firearms, specifically, of course the Vickers Machine gun but also those firearms that fought alongside and even against it. A practical firing demonstration is one of the best ways that people can understand how these weapons of war were used and more about the people that used them.

It is the principal purpose of our charitable object to educate people on the military history relating to these firearms. This could be anyone from school children, studying GCSE or A Level history through to amateur, professional and vocational people incorporating a range of subjects from acquisition, logistics and, of course, military and social history. It would be a great companion to a battlefield tour or other trip to where these engineering marvels were used in action.

The live firing demonstration in this video was at a range in the West Midlands. We took two schools studying the industrialisation of warfare and gave them a morning of talks and demos that brought their subject to life as well as a morning to remember. This included the Vickers alongside the Lewis Gun and a series of bolt action rifles of the First World War.

We are run by volunteers so are able to keep our costs as low as possible and all of the money we receive is invested in the registered charity which helps expand our outreach and manage our extensive museum-like collection and archive.
