Old Otis Traction elevator @ Rush Rhees Library University of Rochester NY from 1930

This elevator is in excellent condition for its age. A BEAUTIFUL example of a well preserved historic otis elevator. Originally installed in 1930 the interior button panel MIGHT have been upgraded at some point due to the fact that back in the 1930s the emergency button simply had "alarm" or "A" on the button. the "Emerg Call" came about in the early 60s i believe. however this style (small bakelite buttons) fixture has been around since the turn of the century.
