The gold medal is silver with a thin gold plating and the bronze medal is actually copper and zinc, worth about $6.
The organization handing out these medals is a tax-exempt, nonprofit sitting on $4.9 billion. The executives are collecting millions while Olympic athletes can’t pay their bills.
