We are studying how the coral microbiome might aid coral restoration. The tiny organisms that make up the microbiome are diverse, and Master student Manuela Quiroga Pérez is trying to understand if there are differences between the microbiome of transplanted and wild corals. Through advanced genomic techniques, field studies, and innovative restoration strategies, we aim to enhance coral resilience and promote the recovery of damaged reefs.
