Its been a while since I have had a good play with an FT897D and it still proves to be a great radio. I have always loved the portable application this radio was designed for but it proves to be a great shack radio as well. They are a great value radio at around $800 Aud (approx secondhand) being that they cover HF, 6m, 2m and 70cm. Grab one if you can, it's a lot of radio for very little $$$.
