#12 Restoring An Old Steinway Piano Ironing Hammer Felts

This channel provides an in-depth look at how you can restore an older 1883 Steinway Model A Grand Piano, from the first steps selecting your piano to all the work you'll likely need to do successfully.

This video #12 focuses on ironing of Hammer Felts. Using a special tool, this compresses the felt on hammers uniformly and can improve tone. In some instances it can lessen the effect of smaller indents in the felts, eliminating or reducing the need to sand the hammers/felts.

Be patient, because good results take time. Done well, your Steinway restoration will go well.
