After a year of teething troubles with this new design, Veloce entered slightly modified 'K' models into racing events such as the Isle of Man TT and Brooklands races, and the reliability and sweet running qualities of their new engine led to a long string of racing successes, and the introduction of a production racing model, the KTT, built between 1928 and 1949.[2] The 1929 KTT was the first production motorcycle to feature positive-stop, foot-actuated gearchange.[3] The roadster models developed from this initial model K were the Velocette KSS (super sports), KTS (touring sports), KTP (twin exhaust ports), KN (normal), and a few variations. A notable change in engine design was introduced in 1935, the 'KSS Mk2' with a fully enclosed aluminum cylinder head. The OHC engine series continued for roadsters until 1948, when the final KSS Mk.2 versions were produced, with rigid frames and Dowty air-sprung telescopic forks. Risastór bílasýning var á stóru túni (bílastæði) á Goodwood svæðinu. Ógleymanlegt að ganga þar um og skoða bæði bíla og mótorhjól - og folk en það er hefð að gestir komi uppáklæddir í fatnaði sem tengist stríðsárunum. Það gefur öllu svo skemmtilegt yfirbragð og sérstaka stemningu.
Mögnuð bílasýning á Goodwood í West Sussex í Englandi. Fornbílakappakstur er haldinn að herrasetrinu Goodwood í September ár hvert. Það er mikill viðburður. Svæðið er stórt og tekur klukkutíma að komast að svæðinu frá þjóðveginum og síðan tekur það annann góðan klukkutíma að ganga gegnum Goodwood landareignina sem státar af hestaveðreiðarbraut, hóteli, gólfvelli, herrasetri,, flugvelli og bíla kappaksturbraut sem byggð var upp kringum flugvöllinn eftir stríð, þar sem gömlu Spitfire flugvélarnar höfðu aðsetur en þær björguðu englendingum í stríðinu og líka Mustangs flugvélar. Á milli bílanna mátti sjá gömul mótorhjól sem voru algjörar perlur. Elstu hjólin sem kepptu í Lennox-bikarkeppninni voru AJS E95 Porcupine og Matchless G45 frá árinu 1954 en yngstu hjólin voru frá árinu 1967. Öll eru hjólin safngripir og ber þá hæst BMW RS frá 1956, Moto Guzzi, Matchless G45, MV Agusta 500/4, Manx, Norton, Aermacchi og McIntyre G50. Þarna voru mótorhjól með hliðarvögnum frá stríðsárunum og eigendurnir í tilheyrandi fornhjólagalla, sem setti punktinn yfir i-ið. Að ganga á milli hjólanna í sólinni með þrumandi hávaðann frá keppnisbrautinni var skemmtileg upplifun sem ég hefði ekki viljað missa af. Lesa meira: http://www.mbl.is/greinasafn/grein/63...
Unlike the Festival of Speed, which is held in the grounds of Goodwood House, the Revival takes place at the motor circuit, which sits around the perimeter of a Second World War airfield. In addition, Goodwood holds an "Over the Road" event in a field adjacent to the circuit, home to a vintage fun fair, live music, bar, catering and shops. Öldum saman hefur Goodwood-herragarðurinn haldist innan sömu ættarinnar og ber áhugamálum eigendanna fagurt vitni.
