Shadow Infrastructure Minister Bridget McKenzie has called for more “frontline services” to deal with domestic violence.

Ms McKenzie pointed out it’s “great to see” the media putting the issue front and centre.

“For too long, these types of incidents have been behind the front door,” she told Sky News Australia.

“We need to see more frontline services on the ground.

“it’s all good and well to have tough penalties but if they’re not enforced, women will continue to be subjected to this type of violence.”
