Respiratory disease is very common in horses and can even be a cause of poor performance. There can be many causes of respiratory disease and a respiratory work up can help us differentiate between infectious and non-infectious causes which can also alter the treatment given and your horses prognosis. Non-infectious causes can be caused by allergens and cause equine asthma. Infectious causes can be bacterial or viral infections such as equine influenza or strangles. Our respiratory work up can also help monitor your horses response to treatment.
