Why China is Building a City in Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka and China partnered up to build a brand new City off the coast of the country. China completely funded this incredible project putting up $1.4 Billion Dollars to get the project going, although it will cost much more to complete the entire project. The new city is being build directly on the ocean floor. A massive artificial island is being constructed to support the city. Since the project began in 2014, there have been many delays and tensions rising between the two countries in charge of this massive project. Sri Lanka thought that having the Chinese assist them in creating this massive city would pay off in the end, when in reality china is taking a large portion of the land available for their own personal gain.
