Arya (Italy) is an Italian band founded in 2015 by guitarists Luca Pasini and Simone Succi, bassist Namig Musayev, drummer Luca Sigovich and singer Virginia Bertozzi. They released their first self-produced and self-recorded album In Distant Oceans in late 2015, and started playing shows in their region. while promoting themselves especially abroad, where progressive and tech-metal music are more appreciated.

Their second record, Dreamwars was released in May 2017: it''s a concept album dealing with themes such as alienation and competitiveness in contemporary society, loneliness, incommunicability and suicide. During the recording process the band had to face a change of drummer, with Alessandro Crociati joining, and the personal issues of singer Virginia Bertozzi, which led to her departure from the band at the end of the album vocal tracking. The album received many positive reviews, and was included by Brutal Metal in the top 15 metal records of 2017, together with the releases of bands like Mastodon, Persefone and Ne Obliviscaris.

With their new singer and frontwoman Clara J. Pagliero, Arya started performing regularly in various Italian cities, and worked rentlessly to compose and record their third album, Endesires, released in May 2018. In March of the same year the band went on their first international tour with the Austrian experimental trio Old Time Gospel Hour, performing in Switzerland and Austria.

Arya are running an active Youtube channel, where they regularly post interesting contents such as vlogs and tour diaries, to show the situation of live music in their region of Italy and to promote the bands they meet on the road. Since June 2016 their music is available for streaming on Spotify, Amazon, Google Plus, Vkontakte and other major platforms.
The band has always followed a strong DIY attitude: everything from production to mixing, artwork, promotion and booking has almost always been entirely handled by the band members.
