These really were an oddball. I would never have place them being up here in the garage ceiling as my first, or second bet. The porch ceiling made way more sense.

But wow, what a ride! What luck, to catch the queen flying in front of my face right at the end of the job! I have no idea where she had gone off to, but I"m sure happy she came back!

I'm happy to report that this hive was re-established on a frame of brood in my yard, and they are quickly rebuilding. At this point I think they will do very well.
