Last day of our Contained Week. Are we capable of drawing conclusions? Hmmm... probably not. The important thing to remember here is that to question painting does not mean that we don't see painting's worth. In fact painting can gift us with one of the most useful territories of growth that we'll ever come across. But that does not mean that we should kneel and bow our head in front of the mere capability to produce paintings. The object of painting is indeed powerful, as potent as an image can be. But we have to be careful of blind, dogmatic adoration. Let us not just push painting, but question the way it's understood, the dynamics when it's socialized and the decisions of how it's commercialized. The act of painting itself prepares us and expects us to do so 😊
