A rumour circulating had been saying that the upcoming Karate Kid Legends might be the reason why a 7th season of Cobra Kai never happened. This doesn’t make sense for a few reasons. One of them being due to Cobra Kai Co-Creator Jon Hurwitz confirming that this rumour is “incorrect” and I explain the other reason in this video.

Cobra Kai had a 3-part staggered release which started with Part 1 in July 2024, Part 2 dropping in November 2024 and the final part in February 2025 this year. The original release dates of ‘Karate Kid: Legends’ was slated for June 2024 before Cobra Kai S6 was even released. Due to the Hollywood WGA/SAG strikes it was pushed back to December 2024, now it’s finally releasing on May 30th 2025. So it’s after the release of all 3 parts of Cobra Kai. Which proves that it had nothing to do with causing Cobra Kai to not get a 7th season. It’s more likely that Netflix just didn’t renew the show for another reason.
