How Disney ruined the final Star Wars Expanded Universe stories

Star Wars Legacy was a comic book set 137 after the Battle of Yavin. It was a huge sprawling story that ran for 50 issues and a mini series. If you’re interested in Star Wars, you’re probably aware of Darth Krayt or Darth Talon. What you might not be aware of, is the sequel series set shortly after the conclusion of Legacy. In the climax of Legacy, Cade Skywalker kills Krayt and the One Sith go into hiding under the guidance of Darth Nihl. Legacy Volume 2 follows Aina Solo, a distant relative of Han.

Legacy 2 was one of the last comics to be produced by Dark Horse for Star Wars. Aina Solo wasn’t force sensitive, she was basically a nobody until one day a member of the One Sith arrived at her backwater junkyard, disguised as an Imperial Knight. Most thought the story was lackluster by comparison to it’s predecessor but there was an interesting story to be told. Darth Wredd, the main villain of the story, hated the One Sith and planned to restart the Rule of Two. So he named and shamed the One Sith who were skillfully influencing the galaxy from the shadows.

Unfortunately, Disney purchased Star Wars and Dark Horse was forced to wrap up Legacy 2 in only 18 issues. Most of the One Sith were killed in the final issue. However, we never see the fate of Darth Nihl or Talon. Makes you wonder.
