Siempre encontraras este plato en la mesa de todos los peruanos, no importando la condición. No importa si tienes mas o poco, sofisticado o simple, todos hemos crecido con el.
Hay muchas historias sobre el origen de la Causa. Sin embargo, una de las que mas resalta es la historia durante La Guerra del Pacifico, cuando el ejército peruano se enfrentó a las fuerzas invasoras chilenas. Durante el periodo de escasez de suministros, las mujeres que acompañaban a los soldados reunieron lo poco que tenían para alimentar a los batallones peruanos, solo tenían papas, ají, limón, sal y pimienta. Después de descubrir una forma de mezclar todos los ingredientes, las damas alimentaban a los soldados pronunciando las palabras triunfantes de aliento que darían nombre al platillo “Por la Causa” o “La Causa.”

There are many stories about the origin of the Causa. However, one of the most notable is the story during the Pacific War, when the Peruvian army confronted the invading Chilean forces. During the period of supply shortages, the women who accompanied the soldiers gathered the little they had to feed the Peruvian battalions, they only had potatoes, chili, lemon, salt and pepper. After discovering a way to mix all the ingredients, the ladies fed the soldiers by uttering the triumphant words of encouragement that would name the dish "Por la Causa" or "La Causa."
INGREDIENTES/ INGREDIENTS:
6 papas amarillas, blanca o morada/ ¾ lb. of yellow, white or purple potatoes
4 cucharas de pasta de ají amarillo (si usas papa amarilla o blanca)/ 4 tbsp of aji amarillo paste (if you use yellow or white potatoes)
Jugo de dos limones/ juice of two limes
1/2 taza de aceite vegetal/ 1/2 cup of vegetable oil
2 latas de lomos de atún, cualquier otra proteína o verduras / 2 cans of tuna, other protein of your choice o vegetables
1 palta punta/ 1 avocado
1 taza de mayonesa/ 1 cup of mayonnaise
1 taza de tomates cortado en pequeños pedazos/ 1 cup of sliced cherry tomatoes
4 huevos duro/ 4 boiled eggs
Perejil/ parsley
Sal al gusto/ salt to taste
1 taza de salsa de Ocopa (opcional)/ 1 cup of Ocopa sauce (optional)
