Let's say you have 20 courses, but you only want to have certain courses available to certain groups of students. One way to do this is by creating cohorts. Cohorts can be enrolled in selected courses. Then, when you enroll a student in a cohort, that student can view and enter all, and only, the courses in which that cohort has been enrolled.
