This was how much we earned as a married couple living in Bengaluru 💸

Finally addressing the elephant in the room and easily the most speculated topic in the content creator industry.

We recently shared how much we spent as a full-time travel couple content creator in the month of August, and let’s just say, there were a lot of questions and a whole lot of opinions. But the most common question was ‘how much do we earn’?

Let’s break it down for you, because we don’t think gatekeeping this benefits anyone. We have multiple sources of income, considering both of us are not just travel content creators but also business owners, we are constantly working towards building different verticals to ensure a steady flow of income.

1. Digital products & Affiliates: We have been monetising our experience and skill-sets to bring you the most well-curated DIY trips through eBooks and guides. This is one of the major sources and passive income.

2. YouTube Revenue: Although we’re only able to re-share content on YT Shorts, it helps us meet ends.

3. Content licensing: UGC is a legitimate job and benefits a lot of brands interested in positioning their product in exotic locations without bearing the costs of models, photographers and logistics.

4. Trip hosting & planning services: We have recently diversified from just curating DIY trips to planning the entire trip for selected clients, and we’ll share more on this soon.

5. Brand Collabs: This is the main source of income. It can go down to zero or as high as 10–12L, it entirely depends on how many brands you sign up per month. But the payment cycle is sometimes up to 90 days once the content is live, which is why this amount keeps on fluctuating.

Having shared all this, managing money is a sensitive topic and involves a lot of tough discussions. Before jumping full time into this content creation journey, we had saved up an ample amount of money to comfortably sustain ourselves. Our travel expenses are usually very high, and we keep aside 1L every month for it even if we aren’t travelling.
