Power loss and/or black smoke? Diagnostic consultation on a Range Rover Sport (2010 - 70,384 miles)

⚠️ Running issues? Lack of power or black smoke issues?

❗ NO CLEAN on this booking due to the diagnostic pre-work identifying an issue.

🚗 Here we have a Range Rover Sport HSE 3.0 TDV6 (2010 - 70,384 miles) originally booked in for diagnostics and Engine Carbon Clean after the owner was reporting lack of power on acceleration and black smoke.

🔎 Initial inspection found little of note in the engine bay with no obvious split pipes we could see or hear.

💻 Initial diagnostics showed lots of codes (historic and current). The engine section codes were related to
MAP sensor correlation
MAF sensor air flow too high
Turbo pressure low

ℹ️ This would indicate a potential leak in the system which would explain the lack of power and black smoke. The obvious pipes appeared to be visibly intact so this would indicate maybe a small split in a pipe which is not visible/audible or a potential cracked plastic manifold (something we have seen previously).

No point in cleaning this one yet as a leak in the system is dangerous and won't fix the issue.

With the owner briefed on a course of action we will return to this one another day once the issue has been resolved.
