Küçük Hasan Hicaz Taksim on Zurna (Melodic Contour)
original video    • Lüleburgazlı Küçük Hasan

Pitch contour over makam map

In this representation, the pitch contour is projected over the division of the scale of Hicaz as it is described by the Turkish system. Thus, the intervals shown are much more accurate compared to a projection over the previously used 5-lines staff notation.

Although Makam Hicâz uses Dik Kürdi and Nim Hicâz as its second and third degrees respectively, on this representation, the lines for Segâh and Çârgâh have been drawn as well with blue colour.

The reason for that is that the intervals Küçük Hasan performs are much softer than the theoretical description of Hicâz.
