Enid Blyton's Five Go Down To The Sea - as a multi-actor audiobook play. Book 12 of the original Famous Five series.

Everything isn't as it seems on the pretty Cornish coast. The Famous Five don't believe anyone would deliberately lure sailors onto the rocks - but someone is flashing lights from the tower on dark stormy nights. Who can it be?

It is abridged by John Lewis with a 70 minute running time, the story still works well with enough tension and drama. These shorter dramatizations are ideal for 'reading' in a single sitting and are great for relaxing bedtime, or car journeys with kids. Recorded/released by Hodder Children's Audiobooks, performed by Nick McArdle, Nigel Pegram, Jonathan Keeble and Catinka Wolf with Julian played by Rowan d'Albert; Dick, Adam Freeman-Paske; George, Jo Thurley; and Anne, Scarlett Strallen.

One of the first released Famous Five audio dramatizations by Hodder at the end of 1995. Since released several times on cassette tape under different covers and then later on CD.

This is shared from a recording of a cassette tape, so lots of old-fashioned tape noises and hiss, but still very listenable and an enjoyable telling for childhood nostalgia and relaxation or for excitement in new generation of imaginative listeners.
