MODY, on the other hand, is a form of diabetes where there are three generations with young-onset diabetes — that is, individuals under the age of 20 or 30 developing diabetes across three generations. This is a peculiar form of diabetes that is different from the usual type 2 diabetes.
Type 1 diabetes is an insulin-requiring form of diabetes, usually seen in childhood. In this condition, the child requires insulin for life.
