The Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) was born in the 21st century and financed in a unique way: voluntary contributions from the people bonds and donations from millions of citizens and state funds allocated to the project. El sueño de construir una presa en el río Abay de Etiopía, también conocido como el Nilo Azul, se ha hecho realidad gracias al arduo trabajo de varias generaciones. La Gran Presa del Renacimiento Etíope (GERD) nació en el siglo XXI y se financió de una manera única: contribuciones voluntarias de la gente bonos y donaciones de millones de ciudadanos y fondos estatales asignados al proyecto.
