It's possible to get Yosuke to rank 9 before Kanji is introduced on May 13. The first 6 ranks are easy but when you reach rank 7, that's when it gets hard. On May 4 you have to use the bed and get lucky it picks Yosuke. This is hard because for some reason the bed will often pick Chie. When the bed finally picks Yosuke, he will show up on lunchtime on May 6. Then after rank 8 you need to use the shrine and get Great Blessing. I don't know if medium blessing is good enough. I need to test it.
