"Forward, Red Marines!" is a Soviet military song written in 1922 by Alexi Bezimenskiy. The tune comes from Gdy Naród Do Boju, an early Polish revolutionary song. The tune was popularized in Russia and probably inspired by the early Bolshevik song "Capitalism Oppresses Us." The song tells of devoted communist Red Marines (sailors) of the Soviet Union and of how they will bring the Red Flag of Socialism and fires of revolution to ever shore, over every sea and nation.
