UPDATE: The light is red when it's not connected, and then turns white when it's connected/setup. ALSO, the USB "Service" port on the side of the TV, (next to the HDMI ports) provides enough power to run the Chromecast just fine. So I recommend getting a little 3ft Micro USB Cable!
