Everything you need to know about Ducati Hypermotard 698 | Hypermotard 698 vs KTM 690 SMC R

Ducati recently announced their Super Quadro mono engine along with the motor cycle its going to be fitted with. Its called Hypermotard 698, though the super Quadro mono engine is 659CC. The Super Quadro mono engine is derrived from their Panigale V4 engine.

The Hypermotard 698 is an eye candy like most ducati models. There is no denying. Though the standard red looks like GAS GAS 700 Supermotto which is derived from KTM 690 SMC R.

I am going to compare the models hypermotard 698 mono with KTM 690 SMC R which is its closest rival. Though the sister companies of KTM like Husqvarna and GasGas takes the same 690 SMC R and makes their own versons of Husqvarna 701 Supermotto and Gas 700 supermotto its essentially a KTM 690 SMC R underneath.

Its pretty rare to find KTM SMCR in malaysia. Though I managed to find one, I was not able to test ride the motorcycle. I will have to objectively compare both the motorcycles, though the real verdit will come out only after I could ride both, which in my opinion will take some time.
