New Zealand's Last Hippie Commune

Описание к видео New Zealand's Last Hippie Commune

Katajuta was founded in 1971, after six friends travelled to New Zealand's West Coast in search of cheap land. They found an abandoned farm near Fox River, purchased it for $6000 and set up a small 'hippie' commune. Since then, hundreds of people have been and went, attracted by its sense of freedom and communitarian ideals. There are now around ten people living at Katajuta. However, the group is getting old and the community is involved in a legal dispute that could force the land's sale. We went down to the West Coast to talk to its members and see what was going on.
