Japanese traditional village tour at Saiko Iyashi no Sato Nenba

Описание к видео Japanese traditional village tour at Saiko Iyashi no Sato Nenba

In this video, we take you to a traditional Japanese Village near Lake Saiko in Yamanashi Prefecture. This traditional Japanese village is called Saiko Iyashi no Sato Nenba and has a magnificent view of Mt. Fuji!

It’s an open museum showing reconstructed thatched roof houses. It’s a replica of a village that was destroyed by natural disaster.

Walking through Saiko Iyashi no Sato nenba gives you a feel of Japanese culture, especially with the houses made with thatched roofs.

There are a total of 21 house with thatched roofs that have been remodeled and now are being used for different things. Some of the houses are restaurants, selling Yamanashi’s dish (hoto) and even dango. Other houses are used to sell items such as pottery and crepe-cloth works.

One of my favorite houses was the one with the samurai displays and kimono rental. You can rent a kimono or samurai clothing, but due to covid, they’re not doing it at the moment.

This place is open year round and is especially beautiful during sakura season. This year we went on April 18 and we were just in time for the blooms.

After visiting this place, you can check out the other places to see in Kawaguchiko and Fujiyoshida.
