New York City Sunset Walk on Broadway and Time Square | Christmas 2024 | 4K 60FPS

Описание к видео New York City Sunset Walk on Broadway and Time Square | Christmas 2024 | 4K 60FPS

If there was ever a video that needed no introduction, it would be this one. New York City is the city every other city wishes it was. It's got history, verticality, and is a true melting pot of different cultures and peoples everywhere you look. I got the chance to stay in Manhattan on a business trip so recorded a video of Times Square and Broadway, the world's most famous neighbourhood and theater district respectively. Starting at Worth Square in the shadow of the Flatiron Building and ending at Central Park on Columbus Circle, you're sure to see plenty of things you know - and maybe a few things you don't!

This was my first time visiting NYC and the US. It's a bit surreal. Everywhere you look is something you've seen a million times on a screen or in fiction. Even the mundane feels remarkable. ("A CVS? I've heard of that!") I grew up watching Seinfeld and other US shows so these places hardly felt real to me. Yet here they are. I'm very lucky to have a job that enabled me to travel here and I hope I can visit again as less of a tourist and enjoy it for what it is.

🎥Filmed on Panasonic GH5S using a DJI RS2 stabilizer. I am very disappointed by how dark and shaky this video is. I even tried reshooting it and it wasn't much better. Sorry!

Food recommendation: I ended up going to Carnegie Pizza three times during my work trip because there weren't crazy queues compared to Joe's or some of the other more well-known places in the area and I only had very limited time. So it's gotta be there. But I also had a really great time at Benjamin Steakhouse. It was my first time at an American steakhouse, and, damn. What an experience. Service was great, too. Shoutouts to our server G!

Postscript: I was quite disappointed in this video as the gimbal didn't seem to want to stay stable - you can see it sort of rocking back and forth sometimes rather than pointing straight forward. I balanced it beforehand, but for whatever reason the pan or roll axes seem to have been thrown out. I actually re-shot this video and had the same issue again, so I don't know if my RS2 is giving up the ghost (it's an old-ish gimbal now, and has begun experiencing the usual issues including drifting) or if I just made the same mistake twice while setting up. I know many people view these on their phone, so it'll be less obvious, but I can't help but feel like it'll look bad on a bigger screen. Sorry about that - no one is more unhappy about it than I am.
