Using brass and stainless steel, I’ll guide you step-by-step through this intricate DIY project, showcasing a simple yet highly effective mechanism that makes this pen knife perfect for carving wood or cutting anything with ease.

🔧 *Materials Used:*
Countersink Bolt (6 mm)
Brass Pipe (Threaded Inside)
Threaded Screw (Threaded Inside)
Round Back T-Nut
Stainless Steel Blade

✂️ *Tools Needed:*
File
Sandpaper
Drill with 6 mm Drill Bit
5 in 1 Tool
Polishing Paste
Hand Tools

🛠️ *Step-by-Step Process:*

1. *Rounding the Bolt Head:* I begin by rounding the head of a countersink bolt using a file and sandpaper.

2. *Cutting the Bolt Head:* Next, I cut the head of the bolt from the top to halfway down, dividing it into four sections.

3. *Preparing the Brass Pipe:* I drill through a threaded brass pipe with a 6 mm drill bit, allowing it to move easily along the bolt.

4. *Inserting the Threaded Screw:* I place a threaded screw (threaded inside) into the brass pipe for the mechanism.

5. *Shaping the T-Nut:* I sand and file a round back T-nut to achieve the desired shape and fit.

6. *Shaping the Brass Pipe:* I divide the brass pipe into equal parts and file it into an XY pattern to prevent slipping during use.

7. *Finishing Touches:* All parts are sanded and polished to a beautiful, shiny finish.

8. *Assembly:* Finally, I assemble all the parts. The mechanism works like a pen knife—when you twist the brass pipe, the four sections of the bolt head catch the blade securely.
