The Seriously Tragic Life Of Marilyn Monroe

Описание к видео The Seriously Tragic Life Of Marilyn Monroe

In 1973 Elton John and Bernie Taupin wrote the song “Candle In The Wind” in honor of the legendary Hollywood actress Marilyn Monroe, who died 11 years earlier. Taupin said in an interview that the song is about fame, youth, and somebody’s life being cut short in the prime of their life.

Marilyn Monroe's life was just that. She may have been famous for playing “blonde bombshell” characters, which made her the face of the '50s and '60s sexual revolution, but her life faced constant media scrutiny and scandal.

She also had a rough upbringing, bouts with stage fright, and personal demons. It’s been close to 60 years since her death and even though she continues to be a pop culture icon, much about her life was tragic.
