Eastern Lament, also known as Chanson Oriental
for violin and piano
composed by George Raoul Vidas (1901 - 1978)

So far, this is the only original composition I have been able to find of the violinist George Raoul Vidas, who was also known for numerous transcriptions.

This was performed on the G.B. Guadagnini violin previously owned and played by Vidas. His fingerings and bowings were for the most part respected as an experiment in seeing how a specific instrument (not only someone's personal way of playing), may have an effect on fingering/bowing and thus interpretative choices.
