"Blest Are the Pure in Heart" was written by John Keble in 1819.

The tune is 'Franconia', first found in Johann Balthasar König's Chorale Book of 1738, though it has also been attributed to the seventeenth century German composer Johann George Ebeling. It was adapted by William Havergal.

It is performed here by the choir of Brentwood Cathedral.
