Scott is a graduate of UNC Charlotte, the General Manager for Delaware FC soccer club, which is a non-profit organization that works with over 5,000 players in Delaware, and a previous professional soccer player for the Delaware Wizards. His talk is about the advantages and disadvantages of youth sport that is centered around parent and child motivations for participation. In a time of anxiety in the world the developmental process of maturation through athletics is even more critical.
I played soccer at and graduated from UNC Charlotte. I went on to play professionally for the Delaware Wizards and earned a Masters in Educational Counseling. I am the Athletic Director at Salesianum School and head coach for the soccer team, where we’ve won 16 state championships in the 18 years and also teach Sports Psychology. I am currently the General Manager for Delaware FC soccer club, which is a non-profit organization that works with over 5,000 players in Delaware and surrounding areas and offers levels from beginners to the top teams in the country. I am married and a proud girl dad to two beautiful girls, Madison and Rebecca. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
