Members of the Crypto band, which was founded in 1973 and gave up at least its name in 1975, opened a new page by changing the band's name to Pumpkin. However, we cannot say that we are talking about a different band since their music and perspectives are almost the same. It looks like they just changed the name.

After Crypto recorded a quality album but failed to achieve much commercial success, the band members quickly changed their names and began recording the album. The album is recorded in a similarly rapid effort. The result remains the same, and although it is a quality album, the 1975 album Pumpkin was not commercially successful.

Pumpkin, which we included in the Jazz Rock and Fusion genres, can be said to be a little livelier and more entertaining, unlike Crypto. But when comparison is made, Placebo's name can easily be given. There are many similarities between them and Placebo in terms of style and approach. Naturally, we can also see Pumpkin as a band that follows Crypto's path and has only changed its name. On the other hand, there are some differences between them.

It can be said that the instrumentation in Pumpkin is better compared to Crypto. Since the band has been playing together for a while, their harmony with each other is very good. They took what they learned in Crypto to the top in Pumpkin.

There are also more electric piano and saxophone solos on the Pumpkin album. We can easily say that they managed this situation very well, which is inevitable for an album with slight Funk influences, and some of the minor mistakes in Crypto were not made here.

Let's once again assert the competence and creativity of the members of the band, who do not have many distinguishing differences if we do not count these differences, regarding the musical instruments they play. Of course, it is not surprising that such a good band comes from the Netherlands, whose musical arena is both lively and challenging. I wish they could show the same success commercially so that we could have the opportunity to listen to more albums or songs from them.

Although they faced and fell under the biggest problem experienced by many bands of the period, the 1975 album Pumpkin is one of the works that should take its place in the archives.
