Goodbye, Cable, Pt. 3 -- Another Converter Box For Upstairs!

Описание к видео Goodbye, Cable, Pt. 3 -- Another Converter Box For Upstairs!

A year and 3 months in, after an initial bad experience with a junk converter box that quit working after one month (SunKey, you make junk!), the Digital Stream digital/analog converter box has been working perfectly to bring in the broadcast channels. So well, in fact, that I bought another one (again, from Radio Shack) for the upstair TV!

At $75 for the converter plus a drops-and-spills service agreement to extend the manufacturer's warranty from 30 days to 1 year, it was STILL cheaper than the $91/month I was paying for cable just before I dropped that service.

In the first "Goodbye, Cable" video, I showed how the original Sun Key box was set up. In this one, I show the setup for the Digital Stream box. Basically the same process: attach the antenna in one coaxial terminal and the TV in the other, plug it in, and scan for channels. Works like a charm.

And no, you don't need to pay cable charges to watch digital broadcast TV. Every TV made since January 2007 has a digital/analog converter box built in. If you have one made since then, just buy and hook up a strong enough antenna and scan for channels, and you're in business.
