1. Visit the official scheme portal: pmsuryaghar.gov.in (National Portal)


2. Consumer registration: enter mobile number → OTP verify → fill name, address, state, district, PIN code etc.


3. After registration, apply for solar rooftop:

Select your State, District, Electricity Distribution Company (DISCOM)

Enter consumer account number to fetch details



4. Choose a vendor from the portal (list of registered vendors) who will install your rooftop solar system.


5. After installation: Vendor uploads installation details; DISCOM inspects & verifies.


6. Subsidy disbursement: Once commissioning & inspection are done, the subsidy is credited as per guidelines.



Documents / eligibility to keep ready:

Indian citizen.

Own house with a suitable rooftop.

Valid electricity connection / consumer number.

Should not have already availed a rooftop-solar subsidy previously.


Subsidy examples:

~ ₹30,000 for ~1 kW system.

~ ₹60,000 for ~2 kW system.

~ ₹78,000 for ~3 kW & above.

Step-by-step registration

Provide details: Enter your mobile number, select your state, district, and electricity distribution company (DISCOM), and click "Fetch Details" to auto-fill information using your consumer number.
Complete profile: Enter your name, email, and other profile details, then save them.
Get approval: Wait for the DISCOM to approve the feasibility of your application.
Install solar panels: Select a vendor from the list provided on the portal and get the solar panels installed. The vendor will submit the installation details to the DISCOM for verification.
Receive subsidy: The DISCOM will complete its inspection, and you can then claim your subsidy through the portal.

Register on the national portal: Complete the online registration on the PM Surya Ghar portal first.
Visit the loan portal: Once registered on the national portal, go to the Jan Samarth portal to apply for the loan.
Select loan type: Choose the "PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana" loan option and proceed.
Complete application: Fill out the loan application form with all the required details.
Submit for approval: Submit the application, and the bank will process it. You may need to provide additional documents as per the bank's requirements.
