Sentences have two essential components: clauses and modifiers. In this video, we begin to look at the fundamental aspects of a sentence by understanding the parts of a clause, namely the subject and predicate. In order to get a high band score on the IELTS exam and other English tests, you will need to construct complex sentences in the writing section, and you will need to comprehend complex sentences in the Reading section. By knowing how to identify a full clause, whether the independent or dependent, you will be able to analyze any sentence in the text given.
